Eyes are the window to the soul!
In Indian dance the use of eyes for expressing emotions is vital. To prepare a student to be able to do it effectively there are eye movements that are prescribed in ancient texts like Abhinaya Darpana.
The eye glances, whether side to side, up and down, eye-roll, and more are designed to equip the dancer to depict various moods. This exercise is not only good for eye health, but it is the primary tool of communication, which can also be useful in our daily lives.
After all, 90% of communication is non-verbal.
So let your eyes speak volumes!
