Understanding Indian Culture – Workshop for Children in 3 Sessions
3,5,7, 17,19 & 21 June 2019
Culture roots children to their origins. SRI’s workshops on Indian culture empower children to steer forward with self-assurance, propelled by the wealth of their heritage.
Children delight in SRI’s FUN and supportive environment as they learn about Indian culture. Rhythm, movement, painting, yoga and a temple visit comprise the building blocks. An exciting quiz finale tops everything!
The three immersive sessions hearteningly proved how much children learned when having fun!
Dashavatara Children’s Workshop
Children learn about the 10 avatars of Lord Vishnu, which is an allegorical account of evolution from the Fish to Human form. The stories are creatively told with drawings and picture colouring, as well as storytelling with hand gestures. A temple visit reveals the stories depicted on its walls. It is infotainment perfectly designed for children!
Kalaripayattu
Kalaripayattu is the fountainhead of all martial art forms. It is a unique blend of mental prowess, physical discipline and the indigenous medical science. It deals with “Mei Tari” – body control exercises that help in flexibility, balance and coordination paving the way for body and mind conditioning.
Yoga
Yoga is essentially a discipline which focuses on bringing harmony between mind and body. It is a type of exercise in which you move your body into various positions in order to become fit and flexible and to improve breathing and to strengthen muscles and relieve stress and improve concentration.
